During Nate’s preschool years, he formed a musical group called the Silver Boulders with friends such as David, Thomas, Josh, Walker son of news journalist Ann Curry and Cal (son of actress Julianne Moore). Showing early talent, Knut wrote his first song “Mama Don’t Let Me Cry” at the age of five. Interestingly, Alex was kicked out of the band by Nate, who felt that the brother-sister pairing was not cool.

While living in Lower Manhattan, four-year-old Nutt, the son of jazz pianist Michael Wolff (bandleader in the Arsenio Hall Show), was immersed in jazz under his father’s influence. Michael discovers Nat playing major chords on the piano, which Nat proudly dubs his “pride chords”. Nutt’s fascination with The Beatles, particularly Help! After watching such films, his music inspires. Meanwhile, Alex, at the age of two and a half, picked up the saxophone. The phrase “we’re a band of naked brothers!” After the bath, the brothers openly announced, as recounted by their mother, actress Polly Draper (known for ABC’s Thirtysomething.

After the September 11 attacks, six-year-old Nutt prepared “Firefighters” for a Fayde concert hosted by his band behind his lower Manhattan apartment. Eager to participate, Alex was provided with a makeshift saxophone by Nate. The charity event raised more than $45,000, intended for the children of firefighters who lost their lives during the attacks. After this charity effort, the band expanded their performances to include Christmas parties and weddings.

Inspired by The Beatles’ Ringo Starr, Alex began playing the drums. While studying tapes of Starr’s performances, Alex becomes a skilled drummer, leading Nate to welcome him into the band. At the age of six, Nut composed a melody without lyrics, later aspiring to create a song reminiscent of the Beach Boys’ sound. This desire created the song “Crazy Cars”.

In 2003, Nate demonstrated his acting skills at The Philly Theater in his mother’s play, Getting Into Heaven. Additionally, he performed in another production, The Heart of Baghdad, at the same venue.
